  • Philip Hodge is a fully trained furniture restorer, cabinet maker, and gilder.
  • Philip trained in all these disciplines in 1992, and also passed with distinction City & guilds Part 2 in Furniture Craft Subjects and Advanced Furniture Studies.
  • Since then, Philip has been in business as a furniture restorer, gilder and furniture maker. He is an experienced teacher, having taught a variety of furniture related courses for over thirty years. In addition to private courses Philip has also worked extensively for the Norfolk Local Education Authority and the Workers Education Authority.
  • Philip is a full accredited member of BAFRA. The British Antique Furniture Restorers` Association is the foremost national organisation of craftsmen engaged in furniture conservation and restoration  – https://www.bafra.org.uk

All items left for restoration are kept under strict security in an alarmed building
Most items are covered by a comprehensive insurance policy.
For larger items, collection & delivery will be included in the estimate price

  1. Thanks to Philip for an outstanding repair and his carpentry wizardry on one of our six dining chairs.
    The chair leg had a severe break and we were unable to buy a replacement.
    For a very reasonable fee our chair was returned as good as new, you would never have known it was broken!
