Wood Finishing Course – 2 day

£255.00

A 2 day course for students who have their own project(s) to refinish

A 2 day course for students who may have previously attended the Introductory Wood Finishing Course or for people who have a wish to undertake wood finishing &  would like to advance their skill set & learn about new materials.

I would strongly recommend that students attend this course immediately after taking the Introductory course. This will cement in your mind the information and skills that you have already learnt. If that is not possible, then this course can stand alone.

Description

This is your opportunity to refinish your own piece(s) of furniture. The suitability of all pieces will be discussed prior to the course. There will not be time to undertake woodwork repairs. If you have a project that needs repair & refinishing then please come on my Furniture Restoration Course

With expert help and advice on hand, you will devise and apply finishing systems to suit the item(s) that you have brought along. This is suitabe for all levels of ability. If you have already attended my Introductory Wood Finishing Course you may be refining finishing techniques already tried. Plus there is the opportunity to explore new areas of finishing, such as heat resistant finishes, high wax finishes, etc.

Depending on their complexity, students will normally be working on 1 or 2 items and will also be learning from other peoples` projects.

All materials will be available on site and will be charged at cost. Students will be asked to bring along some basic equipment.

All projects for this course will be discussed & agreed prior to the course.

You will likely learn the materials & skills you need to use for your own project as well as from other people`s projects. This course alone will not give you such a good background knowledge for other projects as you would get from the Introductory course

I strongly recommend that if time and budget permit you take both the Introductory & Intermediate course consecutively. If this is not possible or you have a particular project in mind then this course can be taken separately.
